World Senior Darts Champions

The over 50s Darts events include invited past Champions and Senior Qualifiers.

The World Senior Darts Tour (WSDT) staged its first event, World Senior Championships, on the 3-6 February 2022 at the Circus Tavern Purfleet. The Tournament features past World Champions from across the globe and from both sports divisions. The sixteen-time World Darts Champion Phil Taylor was coached out of retirement to play in the event with John Lowe, Bob Anderson, Les Wallace, John Part, Martin Adams, and the ten-time ladies darts champion Trina Gulliver MBE.

At 54, Robert Thornton, who hadn’t previously played in the PDC and hadn’t obtained a PDC Tour Card, also played and won the first staged event.

The packed venue, along with BBC iPlayer, BT Sport coverage, was a roaring success encouraging other stars from the past to signup to feature events.

Players over fifty years can also enter the qualifiers, and the successful players win a place in the event finals.
