World Senior Darts Champions

Now Open to Players over 45 Years of Age.

The World Seniors Darts (WSD), formerly The World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT), staged its first World Senior Championships event on 3-6 February. The WSDT 2022-2024 criteria were open to players of 50 Years or over. However, since the name change to WSD, the entry age has been reduced to 45 years or older.

At 54, Robert Thornton, who hadn’t previously played in the PDC and hadn’t obtained a PDC Tour Card, also played and won the first staged event.

The packed venue, along with BBC iPlayer, BT Sport coverage, was a roaring success encouraging other stars from the past to signup to feature events.

Players over fifty years can also enter the qualifiers, and the successful players win a place in the event finals.
